School Board Candidacy
Qualified voters of the District will elect one (1) board members at the annual school election on Tuesday, May 19, 2020, for the seat currently occupied by Mrs. Julie McNeil.
Candidates must select the specific seat they are running for. Board seats are for 3 year terms, beginning on July 1, 2020.
A School Board member must be:
* A resident of the Cleveland Hill Union Free School District for at least one year
prior to the day of election;
* 18 years of age or older;
* a U.S. citizen; and,
* able to read and write.
A school board member does not have to be a taxpayer. No more than one member of a family may be a member of the same Board of Education in any school district. A school board member cannot be an employee of the District.
Petitions for nominating a School Board member are available from the District Office located at 105 Mapleview Road, Cheektowaga, New York 14225, Monday through Friday, 8 AM - 3 PM. Petitions must be filed with the District Clerk. The deadline for filing completed petitions is Monday, April 22, 2019, by 5:00 PM as specified by law. A minimum of twenty five (25) signatures of qualified voters of the School District, are required. (Education Law 2018.a.)

Each year, Erie 1 BOCES conducts a workshop for prospective School Board candidates. This session is highly informative and it is recommended that potential candidates attend.
