Academic Intervention Services
Two strategies that we have been working on are:
Text Annotating and Mark Up the Question.
Text Annotating is taking notes while reading text. It helps readers process information because it forces active reading. Students notice important names and places, mark key words, analyze graphic features and jot down main ideas.
Mark Up the Question is a list of steps to complete when answering multiple choice questions. It also forces students to actively read to process questions and answer choices.
