Sherilann's Annual Bicycle Rodeo
Let me introduce myself, my name is Wendy Lorenz. I am the mom of Sherilann Lorenz, who went to school at Cleve Hill from Kindergarten to and including her sophomore year. Sherilann was involved in volleyball, cross country, basketball and track. She was also supposed to be on the student council and a freshman mentor in her junior year. In the summer after her sophomore year, Sherilann had a job as lifeguard at Cheektowaga pools. On July 30, 2018 she went to Burger King for lunch and on her way back to the pool, while riding her bike, she was struck by a car on Union Rd near the 33 on ramp. On August 1, she died of her injuries. She was just 16 years old. For this reason, I began the bicycle rodeo in hopes that no other family would have to endure the pain as we have. Sherilann’s Bicycle Rodeo is a FREE bicycle safety course for children who attend Cleveland Hill Elementary and Middle Schools. The purpose of the Bicycle Rodeo is a hands-on event to teach children bicycle safety. I hope to see you there!
