Cleveland Hill Elementary School Welcomes New Assistant Principal
A Passion for Literacy, Leadership, and Student Success
Cleve Hill Elementary is pleased to welcome Mrs. Rosanna Howell as its new Assistant Principal. With 20 years of experience working in education across both charter and public school settings, Rosanna brings a wealth of classroom experience, instructional leadership, and a deep commitment to helping students succeed.
Throughout Rosanna’s teaching career, some of the most rewarding experiences came from working with second- and third-grade students in both general education classrooms and collaborative settings alongside special education teachers. These experiences helped shape a strong belief in the importance of meeting students where they are and providing them with the support they need to thrive.
Most recently, she spent 15 years in Lackawanna schools, serving as a classroom teacher for 13 years before becoming an Assistant Principal for two years. This experience provided an opportunity to grow as both an educator and a school leader while working closely with students, teachers, and families.
Mrs. Howell holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education and a Master of Science degree in Special Education from Daemen College. Additional graduate degrees include a Master of Science in Reading Literacy from St. Bonaventure University and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership through SUNY Buffalo’s LIFTS program.
Mrs. Kowalski, Cleve Hill Elementary School principal shares, “As an instructional leader, Mrs. Howell has a particular passion for literacy and reading. A key focus will be supporting teachers in using highly effective instructional practices that help students strengthen their reading skills and, just as importantly, develop a genuine joy of reading.”
“I take pride in helping teachers use highly effective practices to improve reading levels and give students a joy of reading,” Rosanna shares.
As Mrs. Howell begins this new chapter at Cleve Hill Elementary, the goal is to build strong relationships with students, staff, and families while contributing to a school community where every child feels supported, challenged, and excited to learn.
