My name is Kelsey Edmonds and I am honored to introduce myself as the new Assistant Principal of Cleve Hill Middle School. It brings me great joy to join a school community so deeply rooted in pride, resilience, and connection. As we begin this new school year together, I want to take a moment to share a bit about myself and the values I bring to our school.

For over twelve years, I have had the privilege of serving students as a special education teacher in South Carolina, Las Vegas, and here in Buffalo, New York. As a Buffalo native, the time spent teaching and learning in other areas of the country were invaluable, and I bring those perspectives with me as I embark on this adventure. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of how diverse learners grow, thrive, and overcome challenges when supported with care, consistency, and high expectations.

My approach is simple: I believe in educating the whole child. That means supporting not only academics, but also the social, emotional, and behavioral growth of every student. When a child’s needs are met and they feel safe, seen, and valued, they are ready to learn--- and to succeed.

As I step into this leadership role, I remain deeply committed to student-centered learning-- where decisions are always made with your child’s best interests at heart. Whether it’s improving academic achievement, attendance, strengthening behavior supports, or helping students develop confidence and emotional resilience, my focus will always be on what’s best for our Golden Eagles.

Just as importantly, I believe that education is strongest when families and schools work as partners. I am dedicated to building authentic relationships with parents and guardians, and will work diligently to ensure open communication, mutual respect, and a welcoming environment for every family in our school. You are not just invited--- you are essential to our success.

You will see me often-- in classrooms, hallways, family events, and out in the community--because I believe that being present is the first step to being connected.

Thank you for the opportunity to be a part of your child’s educational journey. I can’t wait to get to know you and to support the incredible students who proudly call themselves Golden Eagles.

Sincerely,

Kelsey Edmonds
